I hope this email finds your family well. Unfortunately, it has come to the attention of Ted Harrison School Administration that there are numerous online communities (social media sites) that are sharing information that is untrue, personal, and hurtful about students and staff at Ted Harrison School. The majority of these feeds are labelled “TEDSHIPS”. I would ask that families review the Calgary Board of Education Administrative Regulations 1062 Responsible Use of Electronic Resources, 1067 Use of Social Media and 6006 Progressive Discipline. Electronic Devices and Social Media of students should be monitored by adults. Please have students report inappropriate posts to the social media entity and than have your student block that feed. Should there be information that you believe school administration should be aware of please do not hesitate to connect with school administration. It is our hope that Ted Harrison School is a welcoming, caring and safe environment that supports student learning, personal growth and the development of healthy relationships. The actions of the individuals posting to “TEDSHIPS” and/or similar feeds is very damaging to our school environment.
