Principal Message – April 2026

The sun is coming out, temperatures are heating up, the grass is getting green, leaves will soon be on the trees, and we see our students having gotten back into summer activities. As spring progresses, we get closer to the end of this school year. Although students and families are getting into spring/summer mode it is important to recognize schooling in the months of May and June has significant importance. It is important that students remain focused on their classes, continue to attend school and be responsible for attending class on time and being prepared. The achievement and growth that has been attained through efforts throughout the year are often captured in year-end report cards and Provincial

Achievement Exams. It is important that students continue this effort so that their work throughout the year and previous school years is captured in these evaluation and reporting processes.

As we prepare for next school year I want to share two important pieces of information. We will be re-establishing the Parent Association of Ted Harrison (PATH) in September 2026.

This association serves a key function of running the volunteer Casino that raises funds to reduce the cost of field trips at Ted Harrison School. The more parents we can attract to this group the better we can support programming. The commitment is very small, however the contribution to the Ted Harrison Community is immense. Please look for information in early September inviting parents to join.

Ted Harrison School will be equipped with security cameras in school hallways and on the exterior of the building for the next school year. School Administration has received significant training and has been supported by the Calgary Board of Education in planning for this installation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact school Administration.

As the year begins to come to a close it is important to stay up to date with many of the events that will be occurring in May and June: Provincial Achievement Testing, Track and Field, Drama and Music Performances, Art Displays, Awards Ceremonies and Grade Nine Farewell just to name a few. We want to celebrate the wonderful things happening at Ted Harrison School and the community of Taradale.

I thank the community of Taradale for the continued support of Ted Harrison School, the staff, and your students. Please reach out to school Administration should you have concerns, comments, or questions.
