Principal Message – September 2026

Welcome back to a new school year! It is always a pleasure to see students, families and staff return with renewed energy, enthusiasm and hope for the year ahead. As we begin this school year together, I encourage each member of our school community to embrace new opportunities, build relationships and approach each day with kindness, curiosity and a commitment to be the best we can be. Our school community is strongest when we work together, support one another, and celebrate the unique individual strengths and contributions of each member of our school community.

Students and School Staff have had a few weeks together to start building relationships and getting comfortable with school procedures, processes and expectations of middle school. Those students new to Ted Harrison seem to be finding their way around the building and their classrooms. We look forward to welcoming families to meet your children’s teacher and walk through the school on our Annual Meet the Teacher Night (Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026) from 5 to 7 PM.

The school can always use volunteers. Volunteers support student field trips as well as Parent Association. On our Meet the Teacher Night we will have a table set up in the entrance to the school to support our parents and families to fill out forms required to volunteer at the school. This form is available in your Parent Account, please ask for help if you are unable to access it. Please consider supporting your child’s school program by becoming a volunteer. As well the school is re-establishing a Parent Association. The previous Parent Association has been dissolved, and the school is required to establish a new Parent Association. The Parent Association meets 5 times per year (virtually), it requires no specific training and the more parents that participate lessens the responsibility of any individual. Please indicate an interest in volunteering for the Parent Association by placing your name and email address on the Parent Association Volunteer List. This would be of significant support to the student learning program at Ted Harrison School

I thank the community of Taradale for the continued support of Ted Harrison School. I look forward to a successful, joyous and inspiring year filled with growth, learning, achievement and fond memories that will last a lifetime. Please reach out to school administration should you have concerns, comments or questions.
