Lunch Hour: Off-Campus Expectations
Students in Grades 7-9 are permitted to leave the school campus over the lunch hour, however it is important to note that our lunch hour is only 40 minutes in length. This is a very short time to get to the various stores and restaurants in the community. Students who chronically return late will lose the privilege to leave campus during lunch. We would appreciate families having this conversation with their students ahead of time to ensure a smooth start to the school year. Attendance is taken in all class periods and late entries will be recorded in MyCBE for families to monitor.
Students in Grades 5-6 are not permitted to leave the school campus over the lunch hour, unless they have a waiver signed that allows them to go home for lunch. In the absence of this waiver, students will be supervised by lunchroom supervisors inside for the first half of lunch and outside for the second half of lunch, at a mandatory cost of $30 per month. Students will get a physical copy of Lunchroom Waiver Grade 5-6 to sign on Thursday as well.
School Supplies for Grade 7-8-9
For Grade 7-8-9 students, please use the lists on the back to school page as suggestions for school supply items for this year.
As a reminder, school supplies for Grade 5-6 students are pre-arranged and are added onto the school fees.
Pick Up and Drop Off
It is critical for the safety of our students and for better traffic flow around the school that parents stop in appropriate places to drop-off and pick-up their children. Do not stop in the middle of the road or in intersections and do not make illegal U-Turns to get parking spots or to exit. Please consider dropping off and picking up your child further away from the school, especially during nicer weather when they can walk and meet you. More detailed information will come regarding this.
Updated Cell Phone Policy
An update regarding the new Ministerial Order and Updated Cell Phone policy is posted at this link.
More information will come in the following days regarding start up for 2024-25.
See you on Thursday!
